Holli Xue is a visual artist and filmmaker based in London, UK. Working mostly with artist film and video installation, their practice weaves together documentary elements with experimental moving image and performance.
Engaging with themes of trauma, capitalism, and queerness - as a form of non-complicit existence, Holli looks at how queer bodies roam through rifts in the capitalist neocolonial world, and explores the possibilities of symbiotic-world building. Their work creates interconnected realms that stretch across time and space, offering sites where all critters and their entangled experiences can be held and witnessed.
They are currently taking part in Conditions studio programme in Croydon, South London.
Recent shows, exhibitions, and screenings include Drag Up! 2.0 (2025), Fringe! Queer Arts and Film Festival (2024), Queer East Festival (2024), Ugly Duck (2024), VF Dalston (2024). Recent awards include Aesthetica Prize 2025 (Longlist), Artcabbage Prize 2024 (Animated Digital Art Third Place), Grierson Awards 2020 (Longlist).
Alongside their art practice, Holli also works freelance in video production and art documentation - more info can be found under the ‘hire me’ tab.
